The automotive market covers a wide range of activities and fosters a significant economic network; there are nearly 4,000 industrial companies and approximately 400,000 employees in this sector in France alone.
It also happens to be the market that files the most patents in France, and one that invests more than 6 billion euros per year in R&D.
Today, however, in the context of global warming and all that it implies, this sector needs to renew itself more than ever. This is why we are seeing the emergence of new, more environmentally friendly means of transport, at the cutting edge of new technologies.
Market challenges and perspectives
The energy market is currently undergoing a major transformation at the global level.
The fight against climate change has become the main focus of many countries around the globe. As such, both the development of renewable energies and energy efficiency have become absolute priorities.
For manufacturers who know how to innovate and to differentiate themselves when producing the next technological innovations, the stakes are high and the opportunities are numerous.
This sector has been transformed into a race for innovation to open the way for ever more competitive solutions. The price of photovoltaics has been divided by 10 in 10 years and battery technologies have greatly reduced their price (by over half) in the last 8 years.
Tame-Test walks hand in hand with its customers in the energy revolution, providing them with test solutions for DC/DC converters and also for energy storage.
Tame-Test also stands side by side with its long-time customers whose activity revolves around detecting and extracting thermal energy sources. Tame-Test offers them testing solutions operating in severe temperature and pressure environments.
- Extraction and detection: For Schlumberger, one of TRONICO's oldest customers, we have developed test benches for the electronic cards in tools used for oil detection and extraction. Our test benches reproduce the working environment in terms of temperature, pressure and vibration. We’ve also determined with them the burn-in and aging characteristics for optimization of the cards supplied.
- Capture and storage: new energies imply new issues such as energy capture and storage. Our customers consult with us in a Design for Test perspective to design test strategies for these new converters, batteries and/or BMS.
Certifications and accreditations
The application of the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and the certifications of TRONICO demonstrate the high standards of performance held by Tame-Test.
Tame-Test designs and manufactures test benches for the sustainable mobility sector which require, in addition to compliance with ISO standards, guarantees related to confidentiality.
For all its equipment, Tame-Test ensures:
- Compliance with low voltage directives
- CE marking
- UL marking
- The machinery directive
IATF 16949 is a standard concerning the Quality approach in the automotive industry. It describes the processes for developing and manufacturing automotive components.
